FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE DOGS ALLOWED ON THE ORCHARD?
Due to G.A.P. (growers accepted practices) rules, we are unable to allow any dogs in the u-pick, pumpkin patch, or corn maze.
WHAT PAYMENT TYPES ARE ACCEPTED?
Crane Orchards only accepts cash and credits cards . A 3% fee will be added to all credit card transactions.
We no longer accept personal checks.
DO YOU OFFER FIELD TRIPS?
We do allow groups to come to the orchard, but do not facilitate field trips anymore as we are usually quite busy during the week now. You are welcome to bring groups of students as long as parents/teachers are able to keep an eye on everybody and give instruction. Pricing for apple picking and pumpkins can be found on our homepage. If you are interested in bringing a large school group of 20 or more to the corn maze please send us an email on our contact page to schedule a visit during the week.
IS THERE AN ENTRANCE FEE?
No, we do not charge an entrance or vehicle fee. You pay for the fruit you pick by the pound.
DO YOU ALLOW PHOTOGRAPHY?

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS OF OPERATION?
Cherries & Peaches: Always call the day you want to come to the U-pick because hours can vary.
Apples: 10am - 6pm daily when in-season. (if questionable weather, call us or check HERE on our website).
DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR ALL THE APPLES I PICK?
Yes. Our customers come to our orchard to pick their own fruit fresh from the tree, and since we can't put the fruit back on the trees once it's been picked, it must be paid for by the person that picked it.
WHEN WILL HONEYCRISP APPLES BE READY?
Each year the date changes as we're on nature's timing, but typically the third week in September is when we open Honeycrisp up for picking.
HOW LONG DOES THE CORN MAZE TAKE?
We have two phases in our maze, and each phase usually takes roughly 30 minutes to complete.
CAN I LEAVE MY CAR AT THE ORCHARD U-PICK AND WALK TO THE RESTAURANT?
We are separate businesses, so as our parking is limited, and we need to keep the flow of parking in motion, we do ask that customers drive their cars to the next business destination. If parking isn't available at the restaurant, ask us about an alternative lot!
CAN I PAY FOR MY APPLES, PUMPKINS, AND MAZE TICKETS AT THE RESTAURANT?
We are separate businesses, so all purchases need to be made at our U-Pick building at the orchard (or at the corn maze for maze ticketing during the weekend).
ARE RESTROOMS AVAILABLE?
We have porta-potties available to use.
CAN I BRING MY OWN BAG?
Absolutely! If you are bringing a basket or box, please bring it to the scales first so we can weigh it before you pick in it.
DO YOU HAVE WAGONS?
We do have wagons to use for your fruit and pumpkins, but ask that there are no children in them. You are welcome to bring your own wagons and strollers from home for your little ones.
CAN I WANDER THE ORCHARD?
You may walk only in areas we have designated, as we are a working farm and may be using heavy equipment in other areas. We are a large farm and it is easy to get lost; we also don't want you to get turned around!
ARE YOU AN ORGANIC FARM?
We are not an organic farm and do use sprays to allow our fruit to grow pest-free and disease-free. We often use organic materials when possible and always follow very strict guidelines set for farmers. Your apples are safe to eat right off the tree.
CAN I FLY MY DRONE ON THE ORCHARD?
No. To protect the privacy and safety of our visitors we have a no-drones policy on the orchard.
